We asked Heather some questions about her work passions, inspirations, and enjoyment activities. Learn more about her and how her relatability and authenticity supports her therapist self.
Q: What types of issues or clients do you feel especially passionate about working with?
I feel particularly drawn to working with people experiencing significant anxiety, OCD, panic disorders, or phobias. This is partially because I know how all-consuming these issues can be and how difficult it can be to thrive while battling persistent fear and anxiety. It is also because I have experience with recovering from a phobia and anxiety, and I feel confident that the treatments we have available can make a huge difference for people.
Q: Describe your ideal weekend in 3 words.
Peaceful, Family, Great Food (sorry, four words)
Q: What’s one value that guides your work and life?
Challenging conversations are required for personal growth, happy relationships, and effective therapy
Q: If you weren't a therapist, what else would you be doing for work?
If I were not a therapist right now, I would probably just be "Mom" for a while. Once my daughter was in school, I would want to do something with plants- maybe run a garden center or do garden landscaping.
