Privacy Policy at Thrive in London, Ontario
At Thrive Psychotherapy, protecting your privacy is something we take seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how it's used, and the steps we take to keep it safe.
Effective date: August 2026

Our Commitment to Your Privacy
As Registered Psychotherapists and Social Workers practicing in Ontario, we follow the requirements set out under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) for your health information, and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for other personal information collected through this website.
Your privacy is never treated as an afterthought. Whether you're reaching out for the first time or you've been a client for years, the same standards of care apply to how your information is handled.
What Information we Collect
Depending on how you interact with this website or our practice, we may collect your name, email address, and phone number, along with any information you share through our contact or booking forms. We also collect health information shared during consultations, intake, or therapy sessions, as well as basic website usage data gathered automatically through cookies.
We only collect what's needed to provide you with care and to respond to your inquiries.
How Your Information is Used
Information collected through this website is used to respond to your inquiries, schedule and manage appointments, and provide therapy services, including session notes and treatment records. It also helps us meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations as Registered Psychotherapists and Social Workers.
Your health information is never used for marketing purposes and is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial gain.
How Your Information is Protected
Personal health information is stored securely and accessed only by the therapist directly involved in your care, or where applicable, by professionals supervising that care. Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are in place to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Intern-Led Services
Some sessions at Thrive are provided by Master's-level intern therapists working under the close clinical supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker. Where you receive services from an intern, your health information may be reviewed by their supervisor as part of that oversight.
This is a standard and required part of supervised clinical training and does not change the confidentiality protections outlined in this policy.
Third Party Services
This website and our practice may use third-party tools, including website analytics, contact and booking forms through Jane App, and email communication. These services may collect limited technical or contact data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We take reasonable steps to ensure any third-party tools used to store client information meet PHIPA requirements, including Canadian data storage where applicable.
Cookies
This website may use cookies to support basic functionality and analytics. Cookies do not collect personally identifiable information, and you can adjust your browser settings at any time to limit or disable them.
Your Rights
Under PHIPA and PIPEDA, you have the right to request access to the personal information and health records we hold about you, request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete information, and withdraw consent for the use of your personal information where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us directly.
Retention of Records
Client records are retained in accordance with regulatory requirements for Registered Psychotherapists and Social Workers in Ontario, generally for a minimum of 10 years from the date of the last entry, or until the client turns 18 plus 10 years, whichever is longer.
