We asked Erin some questions about her work passions, inspirations, and enjoyment activities. Learn more about her and how her relatability and authenticity supports her therapist self.
Q: How do you practice self-care as a therapist?
A: At work, I practice self-care by investing in ongoing learning and supervision to grow my skills, stay grounded, and remain passionate about the work. Outside of work, I recharge by spending time with my people, being in nature, reading, and enjoying my favorite TV shows.
Q: Describe your ideal weekend in 3 words.
A: Connection, nature, cozy.
Q: What draws you to work with the populations or issues you specialize in?
A: I'm drawn to working with children, youth, and caregivers because of the unique challenges they face. I'm inspired by the resilience of young people and by caregivers doing the hard work of parenting while breaking intergenerational cycles. This work allows me to support prevention, build stronger relationships, and help families heal and grow together.
Q: How would you describe your approach to therapy?
A: My approach is person-centered, warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed - with a bit of humor when it fits. I draw from a range of interventions and theories, tailoring my work to each individual’s needs.
